Proposal for Curriculum Development Submitted to:
DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society

Submitted by:
SPIRO Creative

Executive Summary

SPIRO Creative is pleased to submit this proposal to design a culturally responsive, experiential, and hybrid-ready curriculum for DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society's youth service project. Over the course of two years, this program will empower 432 Indigenous, racialized, disabled, 2SLGBTQI+, and immigrant youth across five regions in BC to ideate, plan, and implement community service initiatives grounded in the themes of the Canada Service Corps (CSC). We will lead this project with a collaborative team that includes an experienced curriculum development partner, allowing us to combine best-in-class instructional design with SPIRO's expertise in creative direction, visual storytelling, and youth engagement.

All development will be housed under SPIRO Creative's leadership to ensure coherence, excellence, and a unified delivery experience.

Project Understanding

DIVERSEcity seeks a partner to: Design an 8-week training curriculum (1.5–2 hours per session), grounding the program in equity, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed practices. Equip youth with leadership, communication, design thinking, budgeting, and proposal writing skills. Support hybrid delivery (in-person and online). Align with CSC themes including reconciliation, civic engagement, inclusivity, environmental sustainability, and youth resilience.

This program will result in 300 youth-led, service-based environmental initiatives funded by microgrants of $5,000 each. The curriculum is the backbone of that impact, and our role is to ensure it is dynamic, empowering, and deeply accessible.

Inclusion at the Core: Designed by and for equity-deserving youth We will create a complete training package with: Weekly facilitator guides Youth-friendly workbooks and handouts Branded slide decks and visual aids Evaluation tools (pre/post assessments, reflection questions, feedback forms) One inspirational and/or explainer video per module to support hybrid delivery.

"Adera and Ryan have been instrumental in bringing Canadian History Through The Lens of Indigenous Women stories to the public. They not only helped capture and record these Matriarchal women but helped promote and market the courses for the past year, helping to bring several hundred students to the learnings. Adera has been one of my go-to’s in this process and we’ll continue to work with each other to bring more Indigenous stories to the forefront."
