Adera and I are very lucky to collaborate with creative souls like Judy Carlson Bulpitt of Judith Laurel Photography. We followed Judy on several assignments and it was everything we could hope for in a project - capturing some magic footage in beautiful locations, and making new friends.
Judy has an engaging and relaxing way of bringing the best out of her subjects, and her attention to details, especially locales and lighting, breathe life into her photos. We had a great time working with everyone involved in this project, and if it captures half of what Judy brings to the table as a photographer who makes music with her photos, then I feel like we did well.

Charmaine Lang with Lang Design Group chatted with a contractor onsite at her latest renovation in North Vancouver while SPIRO was there to take in the demolition action. The residential home is undergoing a renovation of the deck, kitchen and 2 baths, but it's a relatively small job for these seasoned pros. Charmaine is sure to keep her client on budget and in the loop around every decision. We are going to be capturing the 12 week transformation from beginning to end in addition to producing a promotional video for Lang Design Group.
As part of the full-service approach of the Lang Design Group, Charmaine Lang is well versed and knowledgeable in all facets, as she's not only an Interior Designer but a Project Manager as well.
She has a real passion for what she does and it shows in her work, as she goes above and beyond to identify and address her clients' needs and is very communicative with her contractors. What I really appreciated about her is that she gives her clients the break in cost of all materials, so they actually save money by working with her, and she alleviates any stress that may try and emerge through a reno; she stays cool and confident, as she has everything under control.
Her video will be ready in July, but until then take a peek at her website and see some of her amazing work.
We're so excited to put the before and after video clips together!
ActiveCo, an IT services company, is looking for a few good men or women to round out the team. Do you fit the bill?
Adera and I visited ActiveCo a few weeks ago to do a recruitment video, and I was immediately struck by the vibrancy of the office. Within this team of highly skilled professionals is a group of fun and quirky individuals. It made the experience a blast and we were happy to share their core values of first class customer service and...well, you'll have to watch the video for the rest!
If your passion is in the IT field and you're looking for a fun, dynamic environment, check out the video and career opportunities here.
Shelagh Roberts is as sweet as she looks so don't let her "Pit Bull" comment fool you, yet she is feisty when it comes to saving your hard earned money.
Shelagh is there to find the best and right mortgage for you, which she does attest to in her video. The real testimonial, though, comes from her client who speaks of Shelagh's caring, thorough and gracious personality. She really does have your best interest at heart. We could feel it, even with the nerves of being on camera.
Shelagh with no doubt is there for you, and we love bringing these people to light, as they deserve to shine.
Next time you are looking for a mortgage, call Shelagh and get pre-approved before going out there and shopping for your dream home. It's nice to know what you can afford and what is available to you.
Shelagh will work for you. Remember, she's like a "Pit Bull."

On Saturday, Andrea Ferguson's Life Designs Fitness & Nutrition had it's grand opening, which was not only a fun shoot, but also a special experience to share. Being there to see Andrea's dream come to fruition was one thing, but to be able to capture it for her reminded us of why we love our job so much. The passion and energy that Andrea has for changing women's lives is remarkable, and getting testimonials wasn't a problem, as so many women were willing to gush about what Andrea has done for them and how it has changed their lives.
There were veterans and newbies all mingling and enjoying themselves, and even a few on the sidelines of some of the classes were soon drawn in. There is a warm, energetic atmosphere in the studio and it's clear Andrea loves what she does.
At the end of the day, I was exhausted from just watching, so my hat goes off to all the ladies who participated!
The first in a series of four videos for Andrea will be online soon! In the meantime, visit her website and Facebook page!
Our latest video, which we shot yesterday, was with Christie Dakin of Clear Vision Counselling. Christie provides life counselling, relationship & marriage counselling and grief counselling, and her philosophy brings a simplistic yet comprehensive approach to healing. No spoilers, you'll have to wait for the video, coming soon!
We had a great time working with Christie and she didn't bat an eye at us dismantling and re-arranging her sitting room. Before the video is online, check out Christie's work here.
The B.C. Home & Garden Show was ground zero for businesses this past week, and none brought more innovative and life-changing products than Heritage Beds. Owner Mark Nagra and his fantastic team were onsite to showcase the amazing IRONMAN Recovery Mattress and the Ca-Bed-Za. The IRONMAN Recovery Mattress utilizes Celliant technology, a remarkable composition of 13 optically responsive minerals within the fibres of mattress cover, which reflect ultraviolet light energy back into the body, causing capillaries to open up. This process has been clinically proven to increase oxygen levels in the blood by 15% during sleep. This increased oxygenation aids in healing and reducing muscle stress, aches and pains. The bottom line is you get a better night's sleep and feel better the next day, which is priceless.
The Ca-Bed-Za proves big things come in small packages. Perfect for small living spaces, this cabinet bed folds out from its ornamental phase into the out-for-the-count phase in less than a minute. Passersby were stopped in their tracks by the functionality and the ease-of-use.
I'm very glad that I waited until we had completed filming to try out the beds, because I knew once I laid down, I wouldn't want to get up again. I was right.
Check out Heritage Bed and Mattress at their website, Facebook page or give them a call at 604.536.9380.

Our first seminar, "8 Keys To Making Great Online Business Video", is in the books! Thanks to DeAnn Bremner, the force behind Empower By Design, for having us at her event, and thanks to all the wonderful ladies who attended. The goal for Adera and I was to make sure the audience walked out with some gems on how to implement or improve their video to boost their business. While we were focused going in with what they would take away, we ended the night grateful for what we took away, as there was a greatly inspiring creative energy coming from all the ladies.
It was a great shared experience, and we are looking forward to doing it again soon! If you missed it last night, we will be giving it again in the near future, so sign up to our newsletter or "like" us on Facebook to stay in the loop, and sign up for Adera's "Wow From The Inside Out" Networking Seminar For Women!
In most professions, you meet new clients. Adera and I are lucky enough to meet new friends.
Filming Linda Adsetts for her company "Go For The Joy" was effortless. All I had to do was point the camera and capture her authentic energy, which she radiates. I had started off the day thinking we were filming FOR HER, and it didn't take me long to realize that somewhere after meeting her, Linda had tipped those scales wordlessly, and the experience was FOR US. It is a unique experience to walk into a situation feeling like an expert, and leave feeling like the recipient. I hope we were able to present a fraction of what Linda projects in person, because even that would resonate long after the video is over.
As an Access Consciousness Facilitator and Intuitive Reader & Healer, Linda is so attuned to energies that I felt just from our first time filming that she didn't just know me, she understood me. The bond that she and Adera quickly shared was made as easy as the eagles above us made their flying look - something so remarkable made humbly simple. Linda and her dog Jack gave me a welcome reminder that life is too short, and no matter what, we can choose. We can choose to play. We can choose to smile. We can choose to go for the joy.

Hawaii is not a state of mind, but a state of grace.
Adera and I are back, reluctantly, from 9 days in the soul-refreshing sun and sand on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, feeling recharged and newly-inspired. It was my first time to Hawaii, and it took very little time for me to fall for its easy, blithe seduction. The landscape of the island is a fascinating amalgam of rugged rocks forged from molten beginnings 5 million years ago which command a humble respect, and the lush greenery that, if the rocky terrain is the masculine identity of the island, swathes the landscape with a feminine, fragrant allure.
The story of Hawaii that I was lucky to find so early - on my first day, in fact - is that there is a effortless rhythm, like a gentle inhale-exhale, an unhurried engine of life. I found myself in the water off Poipu Beach face-to-face with a sea turtle grazing on algae on the seabed, and was transfixed by its easy nature. Within its economy of movement and tranquility of the silence, the gentle rhythm of the island took hold of me, and although I'm now back home in front of the computer, I am still trying to embody it. On my last day I found myself back in the same spot with perhaps the same turtle, and I followed its path without a sense of time, the pair of us carried by the ebb and flow of the waves until, with a languid push from its fins, it finally disappeared into the murk, leaving me grateful and inspired.
Adera and I had an amazing time, and I'm excited to look at the footage I shot, which you will see very soon.
