CREATIVE BRIEF
A mock Sit-Down interview thank you video:
Classical music and TEXT: Thanks to generous donations from people like you, The Boys of Fall Charity Golf Tournament raised $136,850 in 2018. The funds went directly to Food Banks BC to benefit Basics for Babies, ensuring that young children across the Lower Mainland get the nutrition they need. Some of those who benefitted would like to express their gratitude.”
We open in black and white on an interviewer(s) who welcomes the unseen interviewee and says they can feel free to say whatever they would like in terms of saying thank you.
We then see the interviewee - a baby.
We jump cut between several babies and toddlers being interviewed as the interviewer struggles to get a response.
The idea of the video is to let the kids do whatever they do in that moment and build comedy around it. For instance, they can’t sit still or refuse to say anything, or they babble and we can subtitle what they are saying leading to a back and forth with the interviewer(s). (The baby is saying they don’t understand golf, or they are astounded by what they got from the food bank they thought it was from Santa, or they thought Dallas Smith was going to be here etc.)
Instead of being a polished heartfelt “thank you” video, this plays as the disastrous attempt to achieve this with the kids. We would end with a subtitled baby or a young kid saying a short eloquent thank you, making the interviewer(s) very happy.
