The Need:Support Worker Central came to us with a two-fold need: To promote their online resource system to both support workers looking to gain employment and to people with disabilities and/or their families looking to hire support staff. Their desire was to have 2 videos produced: one aimed at support staff, and the other at people with disabilities who were looking for support staff. While we were on location, we saw the opportunity to share the stories of the support workers who volunteered their time for the videos. Showcasing the benefits of Support Worker Central's online resource system in a broad sense was necessary in understanding how empowering SWC is, but we felt the emotional impact of hearing these support workers discuss their experiences would give powerful social proof to entice support workers to sign up. In addition to the two originally planned videos, we delivered a series of testimonial videos, with each support worker discussing not only what their jobs entailed, but also how the relationships they have formed with their clients has impacted their lives.
